BY JUDY BOLIO, CHAIR
The Awards Committee awarded two Fellowship Awards at the 2007 Fellowship Luncheon at the VVA Convention/AVVA Leadership Conference in Springfield, Illinois.

The first award was given to Patsy Varnell, AVVA’s National Secretary, for her work with her VVA/AVVA Chapter in Oklahoma packing boxes for the troops overseas and attending the funerals of fallen soldiers. Her son is serving in Iraq. She is the Blue Star President of Oklahoma. Patsy has held the positions of AVVA State Representative and AVVA Regional Director.

The second award went to Dennis Bohm of AVVA Affiliated Chapter 206 in Shawano, Wisconsin, for his active volunteerism with the veterans of the Shawano area. He is a volunteer driver at the Clement J. Zabocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee and an active member of White Tails Unlimited, which donates food to the local food pantry and awards scholarships to students at local schools. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957-60.

I want to thank Anne Pancrazio and Donna Crowell for their work on the Awards Committee.
