Constitution COMMITTEE REPORT

Convention Amendment Action

The Constitution Committee received nine proposed Constitutional Amendments. Two of the amendments will be reported out at the National Convention.
As defined in the VVA National Constitution in Article IV, Section 5:

“Constitution Committee shall review proposed amendments received, and shall, not less than 60 days prior to the commencement of the National Convention, forward to the Chapters and State Councils copies of all proposed amendments submitted to the Committee pursuant to this section, along with the Committee’s recommended action with regard to each proposed amendment.”

As the first order of the committee business at the National Convention, the chair will present the work of the committee and announce the date, time, and location of the open committee meeting.

Financial considerations have been established and agreed upon by committee members, special advisers, and the National Board of Directors. A significant cost savings can be realized with the proposed Constitutional Amendments being sent, as attachments, via e-mail, to the National Secretary’s web page, to each Regional Director, and to each State Council President. A hard copy will be mailed to state councils and chapters that do not have e-mail access.
