Constitution COMMITTEE REPORT
Time For Amendments

BY BILL MESSER, CHAIR

The Constitution Committee has started to receive Proposed Constitution Amendments. Some concerns by members have been noted about the requirement for on-line submissions. This process is not new and was not put in place to make it more difficult to submit proposals, but to ensure accurate tracking of submittals, legibility, time saving, and an efficient distribution. Proposed amendments we received prior to the notice will be reviewed and included in our committee reports. We urge State Council Presidents to help chapters and members get access to computers.

We understand and appreciate that without the Proposed Constitution Amendments our growth, our ability to change with the times, and the ideas to make our organization what it is today would not be possible.

Included in each upcoming issue of The VVA Veteran prior to the Convention will be instructions on how to use the on-line process to submit your Proposed Constitution Amendments. They are:

STEP 1: Go to: http: //www.vva.org/forms/constitutional_amendment.html

STEP 2: Fill out the form in its entirety

STEP 3: When completed, click “submit,” and you will receive an immediate receipt of your submission.

The VVA Constitution provides timelines for the Constitution Committee, hence the importance of deadlines for submittals. Please don’t forget that we will not accept any Proposed Constitutional Amendments after March 19.
