KATHY ANDRAS, AVVA ELECTION COMMITTEE CHAIR

Winter is here, so get out of the cold and get warm with AVVA. This is your organization; now is the time to get involved. Stop being just a number. In January, election packets will be sent to Regional Directors, State Representatives, State Presidents, VVA State Council Presidents, and VVA National Officers.

It is your job as a State Representative or President to spread the word about the upcoming elections for State President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasury for Incorporated, State Representative, and Chapter Representatives. It is best at this time to appoint an election committee from your state to handle the elections. The state committee will insure that information reaches all members.

Elections will be held from January 1 to June 30, 2007. Letters of intent should be mailed to the election chair in your state. The deadline for the letter of intent is 60 days prior to the elections. The Election Committee recommends that ballots be distributed for all elections.

The packet will contain Sections 5-2 through 5-8 of AVVA’s Policy and Procedures. The form needed for this election also will be included.

The Election Committee is available to help. All you have to do is to contact a member. Kathy Andras is the committee chair. She is joined by Janice Gilmer and Elayne Mackey.
