Stephen O. Bailey, 70, died July 15 in Winfield, Kansas. He served in the U.S.
Army from 1955-77, with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a permanently hospitalized veteran member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Clearwater Chapter 934.

Maurice Glen Brignac died June 1 in Reddell, Louisiana, in a motor vehicle accident. He was born January 5, 1946. Brignac served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Ville Platte Chapter 632.

Dennis Michael “Big Mike” Burbach died September 28 in Wright City, Missouri, of Agent Orange-related diabetes mellitis, type II. He was born July 8, 1947. Burbach was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an at-large life member and past state council secretary of Vietnam Veterans of America-Missouri.

Ted Cason died recently in 2005 in Brownsville, Texas. He was born July 28, 1934. Cason was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Kansas City (Missouri) Chapter 317.

Larry L. Cassill died recently in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was born June 10, 1947. Cassill was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Ottumwa Chapter 667.

Curtis C. Coe died recently in West Saint Paul, Minnesota. He was born April 15, 1946. Coe was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Roseville Chapter 320.

Theodore T. Ives, Sr., died April 4 in Rochester, New York. He was born on September 25, 1944. Ives served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Rochester Chapter 20.

John J. Karlen died August 30 in Lawton, Oklahoma, of congestive heart failure. He was born April 13, 1934. Karlen served in the U.S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars and retired after 20 years of service. He was a life member

Bruce J. Katz died August 6 in Bettendorf, Iowa, of brain cancer. He was born September 5, 1947. Katz served in the U.S. Army and was a combat medic in Vietnam. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Bettendorf Chapter 776.

C. Brett Keister died September 5 at home in East Berlin, Pennsylvania, of Agent Orange-related liver cancer. He was born May 2, 1948. Keister served in U.S. Army in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in May 1974. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Harrisburg Chapter 542.

John R. Koivupalo died recently in Dryden, Michigan. He was born November 26, 1949. Koivupalo was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Mt. Clemens Chapter 154.

Rev. Fr. James F. Kovarik died August 17 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, of heart failure. He was born April 16, 1939. Kovarik served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam as a Navy corpsman to the Marines and retired in 1985. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Milwaukee Chapter 324. He also served as the Wisconsin VVA State Chaplain.

Fred Lafavor died October 6, 2004, in South Saint Paul, Minnesota. He was born June 6, 1941. Lafavor was a veteran of
the Vietnam War and a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-South Saint Paul Chapter 639.

B.G. Lamb, Jr., died in Randleman, North Carolina. He was born March 21, 1942. Lamb was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Orlando (Florida) Chapter 761.

Michael B. Lindemuth, 27, died April 13 in Pellston, Michigan. He was born December 17, 1977. Lindemuth was a member of Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America-Petoskey Chapter 68.

Marvin P. Miller died recently in Bakersfield, California. He was born March 14, 1935. Miller was a veteran of the Vietnam War and an at-large life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-California.

John David Murray died July 31 at his home in Fernandina Beach, Florida. He was born September 28, 1946. Murray served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Keyport (New Jersey) Chapter 721.

Kenneth William Ohmer died April 21 in Milford, Ohio. He was born June 6, 1947. Ohmer served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Batavia Chapter 649.

Ole Oleson died recently in Bothell, Washington. Oleson was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Edmonds Chapter 423.

Bertil “Doc” Olsen died July 5 in Bristol, Rhode Island, of Agent Orange-related lung cancer. He was born November 15, 1940. Olsen served in the U.S. Navy with tours of duty in Vietnam from 1968-70. He retired at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Providence Chapter 273.

Kenneth H. Olson died May 1, 2000, in Houghton Lake, Michigan. He was born October 9, 1949. Olson was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an at-large member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Michigan.

Reuben C. Perry III died June 3 in Ellsworth, Maine. He was born August 2, 1948. Perry served in the U.S. Navy from 1966-69, with tours of duty in Vietnam from 1967-69. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Orono, Maine Chapter 185.

Joseph V. Pfaff died in Fort Worth, Texas. Pfaff was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Arlington Chapter 330.

William C. Rabel died September 22, 2003, in Youngstown, Ohio. He was born July 15, 1926. Rabel was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Youngstown Chapter 135.

John P. Reed died in Caseville, Michigan. He was born December 17, 1944. Reed was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Bay City Chapter 494.

Sigurd E. Reuter died April 20, 2004, in Geronimo, Oklahoma. He was born July 10, 1933. Reuter served in the U.S. Army from 1972-77 with service in Vietnam. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Lawton Chapter 751.

Christine Robbins died recently in Mansfield, Pennsylvania. She was born March 19, 1948. She was a member of Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America-Elmira (New York) Chapter 803.

John T. Rose died recently in Marlboro, New York. He was born June 29, 1947. Rose served in the U.S. Army from 1966-69 with a tour in Vietnam. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Elizaville Chapter 869.

Richard E. Ross died April 18 in Westlake, Ohio, of cancer. He was born October 11, 1944. Ross served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Bay Village Chapter 249.

James Francis Rueger died April 16 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born September 24, 1937. Rueger began his military career in 1957. He was assigned to the 1st Logistical Command and served as Commander of the 377th Light Maintenance Company at Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. Rueger was awarded the Bronze Star and the Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Topeka Chapter 604.

C. Roberta Saunsaucie died March 14 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. She was born July 12, 1915. She was a member of Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America-Kansas City Chapter 317.

Roland Savilla died in January in St. Albans, West Virginia. He was born May 13, 1916, in Livingstone, West Virginia. Savilla served in the U.S. Army with a tour in Vietnam from 1966-67. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Ceredo Chapter 949.

Harold “Sarge” Schaefer died May 31 in Verona, New Jersey. He was born in Jamaica, New York, on August 1, 1947. Schaefer served in the U.S. Army from 1964-67 with service in the Vietnam War with the 25th Infantry Division. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Hicksville Chapter 82. He served as the chapter secretary, chairman of the constitution committee, and served on the board of directors. He was the national sergeant-at-arms for VVA for many years and a member of the National Constitution Committee.

Allen H. Schwartz died April 3, 2004, in Rialto, California, of Agent Orange-related cancer. He was born September 25, 1935, in New York City. Schwartz served in the U.S. Air Force with a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1967-68. He was an at-large life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-California.

Melvin Schwartz died recently in Peekskill, New York. Schwartz was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Brooklyn Chapter 72.

David J. Schwoegler died April 16 in Dyer, Indiana, of diabetes and renal failure. He was born August 20, 1946. Schwoegler served in the U.S. Marine Corps with a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1966-67. He was a life member and founding president of Vietnam Veterans of America-Merrillville Chapter 285 and past president of the Indiana State Council of Vietnam Veterans of America.

Rodney E. Searles died in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. He was born October 31, 1943. Searles was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Lafayette Chapter 141.

Joseph Duane Shipman died August 23, 2003, in Kerrville, Texas. He was born July 23, 1930. Shipman was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an at-large life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Texas.

Charles M. Shumate died March 22 in Liberty, Missouri. He was born March 26, 1949. Shumate served in the U.S. Army, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant. He served a tour in Vietnam from 1969-70. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Kansas City Chapter 317.

Gordon C. Smith died February 23 in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was born March 17, 1934. Smith served one tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Porter County (Portage, Indiana) Chapter 905.

Roger D. Snyder died December 28, 2004, in Detroit, Michigan. He was born July 12, 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1971-75 during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Dearborn Chapter 267.

Eugene Spencer died May 1 in High Bridge, New Jersey, of a heart attack. He was born April 16, 1944. Spencer served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Flemington Chapter 452.

John L. Stacy died in March in Madison Heights, Virginia. He was born January 1, 1949. Stacy served in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1968, with service in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Lynchburg Chapter 196.

Francis “Don” Starr died December 29, 2004, in Toms River, New Jersey, as result of accidently drowning. He was born August 10, 1956. Starr served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Lanoka Harbor Chapter 855.

Irwin L. Stein died April 21 in Mayfield Heights. He was born April 16, 1927. Stein served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II and in the Vietnam War. His awards included the WWII Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Service Medal. He was an at-large life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Ohio.

Walter “Bud” Stewart died in 2003 in Gordonville, Pennsylvania. He was born April 28, 1942. Stewart was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an at-large member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Pennsylvania.

Robert L. Stokes, Sr., died June 28 in Melber, Kentucky. He was born May 5, 1943. Stokes served in the U.S. Army from 1967-69 with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Paducah Chapter 337.

Timothy E. Stone died February 12, 2003, in Rough Ready, California, of multiple myeloma. He was born on November 14, 1947, in Hobbs, New Mexico. Stone served in the U.S. Army with the tours in Vietnam from 1969-73. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Grass Valley Chapter 535.

Joseph L. Strauss died recently in Edmonds, Washington. He was born November 30, 1930. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Edmonds Chapter 423.
