Webster Anderson died August 30, 2003,
in Winnsboro, South Carolina. He was born July 15, 1933. Anderson
served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was awarded the Medal of
Honor. He was an at-large member of Vietnam Veterans of
America-South Carolina.
James S. Beaird died recently in Eastpointe, Michigan. Beaird was
a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans
of America-Mt. Clemens Chapter 154.
Donald Boik died recently in Roseville, Michigan. Boik was a
veteran of the Vietnam War and a life member of Vietnam Veterans
of America-Mt. Clemens Chapter 154.
Frances Regina (Von Voight) Broska died February 17 in Hicksville,
New York. Broska was an active member of Associates of Vietnam
Veterans of America-Nassau County Chapter 82.
Herbert L. Brown died recently in Mulberry, Arkansas. He was born
August 14, 1950. Brown was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a
member of Vietnam Veterans of America- Topeka Chapter 604.
Michael D. Caputo died recently in Topeka, Kansas. He was born
March 8, 1951. Caputo was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a

William James Coates died April 22 in Whitney Point, New York, of
cancer. He was born January 25, 1946. Coates served in the U.S.
Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1967- 68. He was a member
of Vietnam Veterans of America-Maine Chapter 896.
Philip W. Corney died April 29, 2003, in Philadelphia of lung
cancer and heart failure. He was born April 22, 1945. He served in
the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam
Veterans of America-Liberty Bell Chapter 266.
Warren Wayne Cunningham died March 16 in Lynchburg, Virginia, of a
heart attack. He was born February 7, 1947. Cunningham served in
the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of
America-Lynchburg Chapter 196.
Edmund Czarnecki died October 11, 2003, in St. Clair Shores,
Michigan. He was born September 3, 1941. Czarnecki was a veteran
of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of

Theodore W. Davis died recently in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born
August 22, 1946.
Davis served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1968-69. He was a

Phillip L. DiGeorge died January 25 in Eastover, South Carolina,
of a heart attack. He was born February 24, 1941. DiGeorge served
in the U.S. Army with two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a
member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Columbia Chapter 303.
Michael E. Ditch died recently in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was
born February 21, 1946. Ditch served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam
from 1967-68. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of
America-Silver Spring Chapter 641. When he served as chapter
president, he guided Chapter 641 with soft-spoken integrity. He
set a great example for chapter leadership.
David Paul Domanski died March 13 in Hooks, Texas, of cancer. He
was born July 7, 1949. Domanski served in the U.S. Navy during the
Vietnam War and the U.S. Navy Reserves Seabees. He was a member of
Vietnam Veterans of America-Texarkana Chapter 278.
Charles Garrett Eagan died November 23, 2003, in Cumberland,
Maryland. He was born January 7, 1932. Eagan served in the U.S.
Marine Corps in Korea and Vietnam and was awarded the Purple
Heart. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Cumberland
Chapter 172.
Raymond James Feia died February 15 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, as
the result of a contusion of the brain due to a fall at home He
was born June 27, 1948. Feia served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam
from 1967-69 and served in the Army Reserves for 22 years. He was
a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-St. Cloud Chapter 290.
James E. Freeman II died March 12 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was
born February 1, 1947. Freeman served in the U.S. Army in the
Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of
America-Coldwater Chapter 730.
Cristina R. Gauther died recently in Kerrville, Texas. She was
born January 18, 1952. Gauther was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
She was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Kerrville Chapter

Roger V. Giansante died recently in Flanders, New York. He was
born February 19, 1914. Giansante served in the U.S. Army during
World War II in the Burma Campaign. He was a life member of

Larry Joe Gilbreath died April 11 in Gainesville, Texas, of
esophageal cancer. He was born April 29, 1949. Gilbreath served in

Joseph A. Gordon died recently in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He was
born June 14, 1939. Gordon was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He
was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Mt. Clemens
Chapter 154.
Robert T. Gravuer died April 10, 2003, in Philadelphia of lung
cancer and heart failure. He was born July 23, 1944. Gravuer

cancer. He was born on April 19, 1946. Lewis served in the U.S.

of America-Greenville Chapter 272 and was a charter member of
Vietnam Veterans of America-Hyde County Chapter 561.
Charles Glenn Love died March 21 in Menomonie, Wisconsin, of Agent
Orange and PTSD-related illnesses. He was born January 13, 1947.
Love served in the U.S. Army from 1965-67 with a tour in Vietnam.
He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star with "V" device,
and the Air Medal. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of
America-River Falls Chapter 331 and had served as the chapter
chaplain for ten years. He also served as the Wisconsin VVA State
Chaplain.
Raymond A. Mailloux, Jr., died May 8 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island,
of heart failure. He was born September 14, 1948. He was vice
president of Vietnam Veterans of America-James Michael Ray
Memorial Chapter 818.
Dickie Lee Mikessell died April 26 in Norton, Kansas. He was born
November 18, 1939. Mikessell served in the U.S. Army during the
Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Salina
Chapter 809.
Frederick J. Miller died November 6, 2003, in Cumberland,
Maryland. He was born June 23, 1949. Miller served in the U.S.
Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans
of America-Cumberland Chapter 172.
Ronald J. Minnear died December 18, 2003, in Merced, California.
He was born September 15, 1950. Minnear served in the U.S. Marine
Corps from 1967-71, with a tour in Vietnam. He was a life member
of Vietnam Veterans of America-Merced Chapter 691.
Gerald Eugene Norris died March 11 in Merced, California. He was
born July 15, 1935. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam
War. He retired from the Navy. He was a life member of Vietnam
Veterans of America-Merced Chapter 691.
Ted M. Osborne died recently in Davidson, North Carolina. He was
born February 14, 1946. Osborne served in the U.S. Navy from
1966-69 during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam
Veterans of America-Concord Chapter 909.
Lyle Pierce died January 24 in Ephrath, Washington, of a heart
attack. He was born January 30, 1924. Pierce served in the U.S.
Army during World War II with the 2nd Rangers at Pointe-du-Hoc on
D-Day. He was a life member of Associates of Vietnam Veterans of
America-Moses Lake Chapter 686.
Mark E. Platt died December 28, 2003, in Pittsgrove, New Jersey,
of metastasis adenocarcinoma and diabetes. He was born December
13, 1947. Platt served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was awarded
the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a member of Vietnam
Veterans of America-Bayonne Chapter 151.
Charles Edgar Reese died February 19 in Opelika, Alabama, of
acute cardiac and respiratory failure from a ruptured thoracic
aneurysm due to hypertension and Post- traumatic Stress Disorder.
He was born January 27, 1948. Reese served in the U.S. Army from
1967-69 in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a
member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Birmingham Chapter 418.
Bill R. Ross died November 6, 1995, in Merced, California. He was
born October 20, 1938. Ross was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He
was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Merced Chapter
691.
Kenneth L. Saari died recently in Centerline, Michigan. Saari was

born August 19, 1936. Trickler served in the U.S. Army for 27
years. He was awarded the Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying
Cross, two Bronze Stars, and the Air Medal of Valor with 17
subsequent awards of the Air Medal. He was a member of Vietnam
Veterans of America-Daleville Chapter 373.
George Thomas Tucker died April 4 in Black Zion, Mississippi, of
pancreatic cancer. He was born June 9, 1943, in Tupelo,
Mississippi. Tucker served in the U.S. Army with two tours in
Vietnam. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America- Verona
Chapter 842.
Larry Allen Walter died August 11, 2003, in Austin, Texas, as the
result of a motorcycle accident. He was born December 29, 1948.
Walter served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a
member of Vietnam Veterans of America-La Grange Chapter 893.
George Robert Washburn died April 18 in Pleasantville, New York,
of emphysema. He was born January 1, 1947. Washburn served in the
U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1968-69. He was a member of Vietnam
Veterans of America-Pleasantville Chapter 49.
Allison F. Worley died March 15 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She
was born September 12, 1931. Worley served in the U.S. Marine
Corps from 1965-69. She was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of

Phillip David Alcantar died May 2 in
El Paso, Texas, of cirrhosis of the liver caused by hepatitis C.
He was born October 20, 1946. Alcantar served in the U.S. Army in
Vietnam and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of Vietnam
Veterans of America-El Paso Chapter 574.
Joseph Lamar Arrington died May 18 in Chickamauga, Georgia, of
cancer. He was born June 25, 1938. Arrington served 28 years in
the U.S. Air Force. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of
America-Chattanooga Chapter 203.
William Lloyd Birch died May 20 in West Salem Township,
Pennsylvania, of ischemic brain injury due to basilar aneurism
surgery. He was born February 24, 1942. Birch served four years in
the U.S. Navy and Marines, with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was
awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of
America-Erie Chapter 435.
Ronald P. Buczakowski died March 30 in Central Square, New York.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam
Veterans of America-East Syracuse Chapter 103.
Dale Burger died May 28 in Bel Air, Maryland, of a heart attack.
Burger served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. He was
a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Bel Air Chapter 588
Wayne E. Clift died May 29 in Bethel, North Carolina. He was born
October 3, 1933. Clift retired from the U.S. Air Force and
served during the Vietnam era. He was a life member and member of
the Board of Directors of Vietnam Veterans of America-Greenville
Chapter 272.
William A. Conklin died recently in Novato, California. He was
born October 14, 1930. Conklin was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was an at-large life member of Vietnam Veterans of
America-California.
Peter M. Conrad died May 29 in Elmsford, New York, of heart
attack. He was born August 31, 1949. Conrad served in the U.S.
Marine Corps and was involved in the Siege of Khe Sanh. He was a
member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Pleasantville Chapter 49.
Philip N. Custeau died in 2003 in Gardner, Massachusetts, of
cancer. He was born April 29, 1948. Custeau was a veteran of the
Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of

Roman Dybulak died recently in Bordentown, New Jersey. He was born
on February 27, 1929. Dybulak served in the U.S. Army from 1963-69

born August 16, 1936. Hodgens served in the U.S. Army from 1963-66
with service in Vietnam. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans

Dennis D. Jacobs died December 25, 2003, in Eaton, New York, as
the result of a snowmobile accident. He was born July 4, 1946.

David R. James died recently in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was
born October 5, 1929. James served in the U.S. Air Force for 21
years with service in Korea and Vietnam. He was an at-large member

Tommie Lee James, Sr., died April 10 in Detroit. He was born
November 20, 1932. James served in the U.S. Army for 21 years and
retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a life member of
Vietnam Veterans of America-Monroe Chapter 142.
Eugene L. Johnson died March 30 in Bartlett, Tennessee. He was
born June 26, 1923. Johnson was a veteran of the Vietnam era. He
was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Oakland Chapter 875.
Thomas A. Johnson died June 10 in Abingdon, Maryland. Johnson
served in the U.S. Army for 31 years and was a helicopter pilot in
the Vietnam War. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Bel
Air Chapter 588.

diabetes-related illness. He was born April 14, 1949. Noble was a

Richard T. Oakes died February 18, 2002, in Minnetonka, Minnesota,
of a heart attack. He was born on December 25, 1941. Oakes served
in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of
Vietnam Veterans of America-Hopkins Chapter 62.
Daniel W. Owens died June 19 in Childs, Maryland, of a heart
attack. He was born December 6, 1948. Owens served in the U.S.
Marine Corps in the Vietnam War with two tours of duty. He
received the Congressional Unit Citation and a Purple Heart. He
was a charter member and chaplain of Vietnam Veterans of America-Bel
Air Chapter 588 and transferred to Elkton VVA Chapter 722.
Francis Z. Palin, Jr., died May 20 in Lima, Ohio. He was born July
5, 1938. Palin served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War. He was
a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Lima Chapter 89.
Daniel Parker died May 7 in Iraq while on a convoy for a civilian
contractor in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was born April 3, 1948.
Parker served in the U.S. Army with two tours in Vietnam as an
artillery officer. He was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of
America- Charleston, South Carolina, Chapter 780.
Anna L. Pess died June 16 in Limestone, Maine. Pess was the mother
of Maine VVA State Council President John Wallace and was a member
of Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America-Caribou Chapter 478.
James L. Riggs, Jr., died June 21 in Ogden, Utah, of cancer. He
was born April 4, 1943. Riggs served in the U.S. Army, with a tour
of duty in Vietnam from 1968-69. He was a charter member, life
member, and first president of Vietnam Veterans of America-
Beaumont Chapter 292 and served as VVA Region 7 Director.
Keith L. Riggs died December 3, 2003, in La Pine, Oregon, of
natural causes. He was born February 8, 1943. Riggs served in the
U.S. Army from 1970-76, with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a
life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-La Pine Chapter 821.
Michael D. Ross died recently in Detroit. Ross was a veteran of
the Vietnam War and a member of Vietnam Veterans of
America-Dearborn Chapter 267.
Daniel P. Rousselle died June 14 in Windsor, Connecticut, due to
an allergic inflammation of the throat. He was born November 19,
1946. Rousselle served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He
was a life member and president of Vietnam Veterans of
America-Hartford Chapter 120. He was also past president of the
Connecticut State Council.
John F. Seidl died in June in Kewaunee, Wisconsin, of pancreatic
cancer. Seidl was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a life
member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Cincinnati Chapter 10.
Isidor Siegel died recently in Lake Worth, Florida. Siegal was a
member of Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America-West Palm
Beach Chapter 25.

natural causes. He was born September 27, 1946. Simoneau served in
the U.S. Army from 1966-68, with a tour in Vietnam. He was a life

Carolina. He was born May 16, 1941. Sturgeon served in the U.S.
Marine Corps with two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of Vietnam
Veterans of America-Jacksonville Chapter 654.

Carolina. He was born April 18, 1936. Traister served in the U.S.
