John & Charles Woolwine
John H. Woolwine (left) of Roanoke,
Virginia, VVA Chapter 81 served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam with
the 199th Light Infantry Brigade in 1967-68. He attended
ceremonies at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington in which his
son, Charles Woolwine (on crutches) who is attached to the Army's
25th Infantry Division, received the Purple Heart after being
seriously wounded in Iraq. Standing beside Charles is his younger
brother, James. His uncle, Ret. Army Col. W. Droke is at far
right.
