Steve Mulcahy I
joined the Army in May of 69. After Boot Camp and AIT,
I was sent to Vietnam in October of 69. I spent some
time at Phu Baiin towers guarding the base there. Then
I was assigned to Camp Evans with E-2-506th Inf.
101st.
I first Joined VVA in the earlier 90's, then shortly
after that I formed Chapter 667 in Ottumwa, Iowa. I am
currently President of that Chapter. I was elected
State Council President about two years later and held
that position until I was elected Region 6 Director at
the last convention.
I have served on the National Veterans Benefits
Committee for several years and was appointed the
Chair after the last convention. I also became an
Accreatided Service Representative last June and
volunteer in that capacity at the Iowa State Council
Office in Des Moines.
I retired from John Deere Ottumwa Works last May after
working there 30 years, and now I seem to be a
professional volunteer. I have been married for over
30 years to my high school sweetheart, and we have two
sons.
I hope to be able to travel more in the next two years
and visit each state during one of their State Council
meetings. I currently serve on the Finance committee,
the SHAD Task Force, and Chair the Benefits Committee.
In service to Veterans,
