Bill Meeks, Jr.
My name is Bill Meeks, Jr., and I am running for
reelection as an At Large Director on the Vietnam
Veterans of America Board of Directors. I took a sunny
tropical tour of Vietnam in 1968 with the U.S.
Marines. My union with VVA took place in 1992; I am a
life member of VVA Chapter # 343, married to Suzie, 4
kids, 8 grandkids and work for Van De Wiele
Engineering in Houston, Texas. I am President of the
VVA Texas State Council since 1999; chair of the VVA
Membership Affairs Committee, chair of the Handbook
Committee for the Conference of State Council
Presidents and a member of the VVA Resolutions
Committee.
Even after leadership positions at chapter and state
council levels for numerous years, the jump to the
national level was eye opening to say the least and I
have strived to communicate on a continual basis to
the membership since my election. Financial concerns
impact our organizational operation on a daily basis;
I have weigh all the information presented on issues,
budgets, projects or programs and tried to vote
correctly on every matter placed before the board. As
a National Board member, being a member of the VVA
talk list and providing assistance pertaining to VVA
operational procedure or membership questions is
essential in my opinion for our organization to
function properly. I am asking for your support in my
bid for reelection as an At Large Director on the VVA
Board of Directors. |
