2003 Candidates Statements
Jerry Klein My name is Jerry Klein and I am asking for your support for reelection to the position of Director at Large. For the past six years I have been priviledged to serve the membership of VVA in the position of Director at Large.
The issues that veterans face in the future center around access to Healthcare and Benefits. The battleground for the next few years will be budgetary battles acted out before our elected officials in Washington. As a member of the Government Affairs Committee, Veterans Benefits Committee and Vice Chair of the Veterans Affairs Committee, I have worked towards creating VVA's policy positions on healthcare and benefit issues.
My experience over the past twenty years has been my ability to work within the legislative arena both on the State and Federal level. I was appointed to the position of Legislative Coordinator by the New York State Council in 1992 a position I held until 2002. I was asked to Chair the
Government Affairs Committee of the Florida State Council in January 2003.
I am asking the membership of VVA for their support so that I can continue the important work of insuring that our nations veterans continue to receive the best healthcare and timely and accurate benefit decisions on their claims.
