Conference of State Council Presidents' Tucson Elections

BY KAYE GARDNER

The VVA Conference of State Council Presidents (CSCP) meeting was called to order by Chairman John Rowan of New York, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for members of Vietnam Veterans of America, those in current military service, and our POW/MIAs.

Many new State Council Presidents were elected in June. All the Presidents were asked to introduce themselves.

Rowan discussed the Veterans Day functions to be held in Washington, D.C., in November. He asked the State Council Presidents to coordinate their chapters' plans for the events.

Elections for the new CSCP officers were then conducted. The newly elected officers are: President: Richard DeLong, Louisiana; 1st Vice President: Charlie Montgomery, Virginia; 2nd Vice President: Lee Fisher, Ohio; Secretary: Don McDole, Indiana.

VVA President Tom Corey administered the oath of office to the new officers.
