Region 9 Report

I would like to give a big VVA welcome to Region 9’s newest chapter, Chapter 887 of Angeles City, Philippines. When I was reelected last August in Greensboro, I told Region 9's delegates that my plan for the next year was to concentrate on visits to the states rather than to regional meetings. During the last quarter I was able to visit Nevada, New Mexico, and Hawaii. I plan to visit the other states in my region at the beginning of the new year. I have enjoyed my visits to the state council meetings. I’m able to meet members of the region and hear about their programs and activities. We have sent a chapter start-up kit to Utah.We hope to get a chapter going there within the next two years.
The next Region 9 meeting is planned for June 2002 in Carson City, Nevada. It will be held in conjunction with the Carson City chapter’s annual banquet. The next National Leadership Conference will be held in the region in Tucson, Arizona, in August. The National Convention in 2005 also will be held in the region. The site will be Reno, Nevada. We also will have another Region 8 and 9 conference prior to the 2003 convention. Additional information and details will follow regarding the regional conferences, leadership conference, and national convention.
