AVVA Report
Strategic Planning
By Nancy Switzer, President
The Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America held its first
Leadership Conference in conjunction with the VVA’s Tenth National
Convention in Greensboro, North Carolina, in August. It was a
great meeting. At our first seminar, Ann Lawrence, a facilitator,
donated her time to help us out. About 85 AVVA members took part
in the seminar, in which we discussed ideas about how to develop
an organization-wide strategic plan.
It was a long day, but much was accomplished. We wound up
adopting many goals. We decided that we need to set priorities
because we cannot do everything at once. We will choose our
priorities based on importance, ability to complete at this time,
and other factors.
I would like to thank everyone who attended the seminar on
strategic planning for AVVA. I know that by taking part, everyone
reaffirmed their commitment to this organization. We will get
better by working together. Anyone who has any questions or
concerns, should feel free to contact me.
