A Solid Gold Day

Gold Star Mothers Day, is Sunday, September 30. A majority of Gold Star Mothers lost their sons or daughters in the Vietnam War. It makes sense that Vietnam Veterans of America takes an active role in acknowledging the sacrifices these special women have made, just as we do for their sons and daughters on Memorial Day.
VVA chapters, across the country have sought out Gold Star Mothers and their families to include them in veteran-related activities. This is the right thing to do, and is a an excellent project for chapters, one that provides deep satisfaction. I urge all VVA members to make a commitment to do something for Gold Star Mothers on Gold Star Mothers Day.
For every Gold Star Mother, there was a Gold Star Father. They suffered and sacrificed as well. Please remember them too.
Each year, the American Gold Star Mothers organization meets in Washington, D.C. for two days. Vietnam Veterans of America will be represented at all the events and we invite all VVA members to join us.
