NATIONAL RESOLUTION COMMITTEE

What happens when your Resolution is received by the
National Resolutions Committee.
1.
Your resolution will be dated to establish when the resolution was
received by the deadline date.
Note: Any resolutions received
after the deadline date will not be
accepted.
2.
The resolution form will be checked to make sure the following items have
been completed date, name and address of the writer, telephone number and e-mail
address (if applicable). Has the
resolution been endorsed by a chapter and/or state council is optional. The
committee will also check the Resolution
Information: committee
responsible for the resolution (if known), issue, background and proposed
position. If any resolution requires funding, please attach detailed
specification and amount of funding for implementation to the form.
3.
Your resolution will be carefully reviewed within seven to ten days after
receipt by the resolution committee. If
the resolution is found to be complete, it will be assigned to the committee
responsible for oversight on this resolution and assigned and a number.
An acknowledgement letter will be mailed to the writer of the resolution.
In any future correspondence, refer to the resolution by the title and
number assigned. Any resolution
that is not completed properly will be returned to the writer by certified
return receipt requested mail. You
have until the deadline date of April 3, 2000 to return the completed
resolutions.

All proposed resolutions will be compiled and submitted to the proposed
committees at the April 2001 board meeting for their review and comments.
5.
When the resolution process begins at the National Convention, committee
hearings will be held following the opening ceremonies.
There will be three (3) tiers with four (4) committee in each tier with a
hearing time of three (3) hours per tier. The
hearing will be for the committee and delegates to review all resolutions
pertaining to their committee, prior to the resolutions being presented to the
convention delegates on the convention floor.
6.

mailings, VVA Veteran and by e-mail to Sharon
