Joe Jenkins Joe Jenkins served in the U.S. Army from 1966-68, including a tour of duty as a combat engineer in Vietnam from October 1966-October 1967 with the 11th Aviation Command and the 919th Engineers. His awards include the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. He received an honorary discharge in 1968 at the rank of Sergeant E-5. Joe Jenkins received a BS in marketing and management from Southern He has long record of community service, including serving as president of the Baton Rouge Kiwanis Club, on the Advisory Board of the New Orleans VA Medical Center, and as president of VVA Chapter 852 in Baker, Louisiana. He lives with his wife, Georgia, in Baker, Louisiana.
