Fred Elliott Fred Elliott of Rochester, New York, was drafted into the Army in December 1965 and served for two years, including a year in Vietnam with the 9th Infantry Division’s 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. Fred, who is retired, has been an active member of Vietnam Veterans of America since he served as a Director of Rochester Chapter 20 in 1984. Since then, he has been the chapter’s secretary, treasurer, vice president, president, and chair of its Finance Committee. From 1999-2001, he served as chair of VVA’s National Strategic Planning Committee and in 2001 was the chair of VVA’s National Convention Rules Committee. He was elected to the National Board of Directors in 1999 as an At-Large Director, and in 2003 as Region 2 Director. In 2005, he was named director of VVA’s Vietnam Veterans Assistance Foundation. The father of two children—Jennifer and Michelle—Fred serves on the Board of Directors of Rochester’s Veterans Emergency Relief Foundation and is a member of the Monroe County, New York, Veterans Advisory Committee. |
