Albert Cummings of Turners Falls, Massachusetts, served as a radio operator with the U.S. Army’s 77th Field Artillery Regiment in the Vietnam War in 1967-68. He was wounded in action and is a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Al, who is retired, has been an active member of Vietnam Veterans of America since 1993. He served for ten years as the President of VVA Chapter 232 in Greenfield, Massachusetts, and was elected President of the Massachusetts State Council in 2002. He was elected to an at-large seat on the VVA National Board of Directors in 2003.

Al and his wife Donna have two children, Kimberley and Alan.
