Is it time to start thinking about
next year’s National Convention in Reno? If your chapter plans
to send delegates to the Convention, then the answer is “Yes!”
The Convention is not until August, but the number of
delegates that a chapter can send is based on the chapter’s
active VVA membership as of February 28, 2005. To be
represented by a delegate at the Convention, a chapter must
have at least 25 active members on that date. If you look at
your current membership roster (the “Detailed Membership
Report”), do you have at least 25 VVA members paid at least
through February 2005? If not, you’ll need to do some
recruiting, as well as convincing your lapsed members to
renew.
Also, if your
chapter membership is near one of the multiples for additional
delegates (50, 100, 150, and so on), you might want to be sure
that you have at least that many members paid through 02/2005
or later. Please refer to the VVA Constitution, Article I,
Section 6, for details on how your membership determines the
number of delegates you can send to the convention. Please
contact the VVA Membership Department at 800-882-1316,
ext. 115, or
membership@vva.org if you have any questions on planning
your delegate representation at the Convention.
